Elahi

If you are a fan of comic books, you might have heard about Shahreen Elahi. She was a rising junior at Georgia State University when she got the chance to work in the blockbuster movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The role gave Elahi a chance to represent Muslim women. However, she never thought she would have to wear the hijab on film. In fact, she hardly ever does in her daily life. But when she was cast in the movie, she jumped at the chance to show the world that Muslims can be normal.

During the filming of the movie, Elahi and other actresses were asked to wear hijab. Even though she did not want to cause any problems, she felt that it was worth the sacrifice.

Elahi is happy that she was able to represent Muslim women in a major American movie. However, she still has to figure out what her specialty will be. And she is also not sure where she will live in the future.

Elahi isn't the only actor who has taken a stand against the blatant exclusion of Muslims. Several Iranian actors have been arrested during anti-hijab protests. Among them are Taraneh Alidoosti, Noor Bukhari, and Soheila Golestani.
