Muslim Prayer Garments

Should they be made from gold?

The Prophet Muhammad pbuh forbade men from wearing gold. The Qur'an also warns against hoarding precious metals outside of righteous transactions. However, the Qur'aan does not explicitly ban the use of silk.

Men who perform Salat are not permitted to wear gold or pure silk. However, if they choose to wear a pair of trousers and a wrapper around the waist, this is not a problem.
